Ask the Artist

The purpose of my art is to be of service, to empower individuals, and to inspire personal growth all while embracing the beauty of the present moment

WHAT INSPIRES YOU ?

My artwork is greatly inspired by the experiences of being a black woman. The strength and resilience exhibited by black women in any situation is truly admirable. Additionally, nature and music play a major role in shaping my artistic style and themes.

WHAT’S YOUR MISSION?

When my art instills in others the unwavering faith to pursue their dreams, I know I have succeeded.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

Art that combines various mediums to create abstract compositions.

WHY NOW ?

When I'm on my way out of this crazy world, I wanna be able to say, 'Hey, at least I gave it a go!'

WHAT’S YOUR AVERAGE TIME SPENT ON PIECES ?

It depends, I always walk with a notepad and pencil where I mind map my ideas as they come to me. Working on pieces can take anywhere from fours hours to multiple days depending on the level of detailing.

DID YOU STUDY ART FORMALLY?

No, I am self taught.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE ART AND WORK?

It has been a slow balancing act for a while. But the support from those that I share this dream with keeps me going. It speaks volumes when others recognize what brings you joy.
